Popeye the Sailor – Let’s Stalk Spinach (1951)
Famous Studios Popeye the Sailor cartoon. This is one of those cartoons where you can tell that the animators had fun with the plot. This is another one of those where Popeye tells his nephews a story to teach them the importance of spinach. For the second time, Popeye tells his nephews the story of "Jack and the Beanstalk" (the first was in 1943's "Ration fer the Duration"), but this time Popeye puts himself in the story in place of Jack. Notice how Popeye's appearance in the story is that of his adult self wearing boys' clothing. On almost all other occasions where Popeye would tell a story about his childhood, he would appear in the story looking like a child. Aside from the hilarious sight to see an adult version of Popeye in boys' clothing, it gives the impression that Popeye's story is pure nonsense. However, the surprise ending reveals that for once, Popeye actually told a true story.

One of the best Famous Studio Cartoons I’ve seen. When I was a kid, ( many years ago) I always thought the part where Popeye ” lets the giant have it” the giant looks like a Asian Guy! Thanks for sharing.
Didn’t the hen did the same thing in the Little Audry cartoon?
Thanks for the upload.
I’ve been looking for this one for awhile now. Glad to see Popeye rescue the golden hen, and give the giant a beating. ^_^
This is one of my favorite episodes, thanks for sharing it!
