I’m new to this area of thinking my son has told me that he enjoys wearing girls clothes because there more ‘comfortable’.
I’m new to this area of thinking my son has told me that he enjoys wearing girls clothes because there more ‘comfortable’.
While trying to understand this it got me thinking, my daughter sometimes wears clothes that are for ‘boys’, she calls it a ‘Tom-boy’ look and gets away with it. But my son, if he was to put on a skirt or a dress it would be unacceptable.
Why is this?

im not sure. but some girls clothes look hot on guys =D
idk
its weird
but thats just the way society has been, and they aren’t going to accept it anytime soon
not fair to boys at all
but thats just the way it is
isn’t it kind of obvious?!
because in this culture guys look, or act, or are *** if they act feminine, and when girls act boyish, it’s cute, tom boy, or sporty.
thats just the way it is.
and let’s face it; a guy wearing a dress? that looks plain weird.
are you sure your sons not ***?
(: haha
i have no clue why it is like that.i personally would not mind.
society. people need to judge other’s. if a girl is tough and tom-boyish it’s considered a strength. if a boy likes things deemed girly he is considered a sissy and weak. it’s just the way people were raised to think. hopefully one day people will learn to think for themselves, not just believe everything they have heard, and stop judging others.
how can you call someone *** for wearing a dress? do you wear pants? women didn’t start wearing pants until the 19 or 20th century. What about short hair, that’s for men too. So i guess you don’t wear pants or have short hair because then you would be a ****. Right?
because of society
they do….the “skater” type wear girls pants because they stretch better so they can skate…don’t believe me come to utah and hang out at the skate parks…..
A few hundred years ago, men wore wigs, earrings, dresses and skirts, and women were covered from head to toe…
As times change, what is in “fashion” changes. Clothes are really gender neutral, but society tries to attach labels to everything, and thus clothes become “male” and “female” oriented.
Unfortunately now we live in a time where the persecution of people who are “different” from the norm is commonplace, and people jump to conclusions based on how people dress. This is exacerbated by the high instances of religious based homophobia.
As time goes on, what men wear and what women wear will change once again. But we often forget we were ALL born into this world naked, not with clothes on.
it starts in the Bible man is supposed to be strong tough and lead the woman plus it has to do w/ fashion @ the time or society its someones fault that has everyone thinkn that boys shouldn’t wear girl things cuz they are transvesti or *** but girl wearin guy things its just being a tom boy .. well that’s stupid but WE all judge people for what they wear it let it be you to throw the first inocent stone of never having judged any ever for they way they are dress .. BE HONEST .. we all do it @ one point & time …
Society believes that it is healthy for boys to want to be boys and for girls to want to be girls. Social convention dictates that girls should wear girls clothes and boys should wear boys clothes.
After WWII many woman began challenging social convention by wearing pants. Society thought they were trying to act like men and this activity was discouraged. Still the girls continued to wear pants. Eventually society began to accept this and the girls were no longer seen as trying to act like men. So today girls can wear pants because they earned the right.
However, there has never been anything similar on the men’s side. In the late 60’s-70’s men learned that they could wear their hair longer, or even wear jewelry. But men never challenged social convention to the extent of wearing skirts and dresses. That remains the unhealthy image of boys trying to be girls.
Society depends on young people to challenge social convention. They need brave young men who are unbroken by teasing, Only by surviving through the hard times will this frontier of social convention be expanded to allow boys to wear skirts, dresses, nail-polish, and other “feminine” items. Society needs to learn that boys can enjoy wearing these things without trying to become girls.
I’ve been wondering that same thing but never got an answer. In my opinion, your son should just dress the way he wants and if anyone gives him problems with that, tell them to shut up and ignore them!
it looks odd
While as a rule society doesn’t accept boys or men wearing dresses, they are more tolerable of them in skirts. Why, because you can blend the gender wall. For instance a boy or a man wearing a skirt can also wear a polo shirt, socks and shoes or sandals. You see a skirt with a male top and traditional male shoes or sandals. It displays both the masculine and feminine side without over stressing either one. This takes it out of the realm of traditional crossdressing in that the boy or man is not trying to appear as a female. This type of clothing, when properly worn is in parallel to that of a male in shorts and a shirt. I don’t see what difference could be drawn from this attire. They both cover the necessary areas, but allow the comfort required.
