With teen age girls and some women constantly losing weight, are clothing sizes going to start coming in Micro

I am going to use Nicole Ritchie, before pregnancy , for an example. If women are constantly going to be that size, then are clothing manufacturers going to change sizes of women’s clothing to Micro. Seeing a woman that size shop in toddler girls is just … weird.

I agree. And I wouldn’t be surprised if they come out with some sort of crazy small size, such as micro.
It’s ridiculous, especially considering how much people are influenced by the media, and that little girls look up to people like her.
I hope to god they don’t as then the manufactures are just advocating this size zero situation and will send out the wrong message. Women (and men) will feel even more inadequate then they do now thanks to media and the likes of Nicole Richie and keira knightly. It is so sad.
It’s a possibility.
well it’s a two way situation here, a lot of girls are starting to become thinner because of a minor eating disorder because the media keeps putting out the phrase ‘thin is in’ like in the 60’s. but on the same note, there are way to many fast food places in america with unhealthy fattening food that makes many women in america obese. the manufacturers have made larger clothing sizes for stores to sell because of the growing weight in america but may have to start producing smaller clothing too. I think it would be a stupid idea to sell anything less then an xtra small because you’re just promoting that thin is in. they should sell normal sized clothes, with the exeption of a few plus sizes because sometimes people can’t help that they are obese.
No, the clothing industry has no obligation to cater to anorexics.
If a size 00-2 is too big and their waistline is under 22-24 inches, then they will just have to shop in the kid’s section.
Am I being harsh, I don’t think so. If they were to make even smaller sizes, it will just encourage even more girls to starve themselves to be skinny.
More than likely they will just label sizes as smaller as opposed to them actually being smaller, i.e. label a size 0 as a 00 and a size 00 as a 000. This will make girls believe they are skinnier even though their measurements have not changed. In fact this is what has been happening since the 1950’s, it’s called vanity sizing.
ok, I have always been petite but I think the sizes have changed to bigger than what they used to be. For example, I fit into a zero petite but in Tommy Hilfiger I am less than zero because his size zero pants I could swim in. And then there is Old Navy’s size zero … please! it makes some girls’ dreams come true but it’s not a zero. But you make a key point of women constantly losing weight, which means a lot of women are overweight & clothing manufacturers have made sizes bigger to compensate. Can you tell trying to find clothes that fit me is nothing but frustrating? Sorry. And thanks for the soapbox.
